Frequently Asked Questions about Cakes

How do I get my cake?
Cakes are collected personally on a date specified in advance from our bakery at No. 82 Sewell Road. They come boxed and ready to take away.

Cakes are at their happiest travelling in the boot as this provides a flat surface. If collection is not possible local delivery may be able to be arranged depending on workload.

Please enquire at time of order. Tiered wedding and larger cakes require professional set up and a fee of £20 is charged for local delivery and set up of your cake.

How and when do I make payment?
Payment can be made either with Paypal by clicking here or by cheque/postal order (made payable to No.82 Cake Studio).

For wedding cakes a non- refundable £100 deposit is required to secure your booking.

All other cakes/cupcakes a 50% deposit of the total cost is required at the time of ordering with the balance payable on the day of collection (this can be done by Paypal). Please note your order is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

How long will my cake last?
Generally cakes last for about a week if kept covered in the box (when not on display, of course!)

How many will my cake serve?
As a general guide:

Can I mix the flavours of my wedding/multi-tiered cake?
Absolutely; each tier of your cake can be a different flavour to ensure there is something to suit all tastes

I want to use fresh flowers on my cake, do you provide these?
Your florist will supply you with flowers for the cake. Please bear in mind that, due to toxicity, some flowers are not suitable to be touching the cake. Your florist will advise on this.

How far in advance are the cakes prepared for my wedding?
If you have chosen a fruit cake, we like to bake these at least 6 months in advance to ensure that it can be fed regularly and and matured with brandy. 

This also produces a perfect consistency for slicing. If your cake is sponge, then this will be baked during the week of the wedding.
